Simply put: There are fewer men in Russia than women, this is an after affect of World War II. This means the men can be less aggressive in chasing women as there are many girls to choose from. So a man who is kind, gentle and attentive (typical westerner) becomes very attractive.

The first thing you must understand is that a Russian Woman is like any other woman, she has dreams and wants a good life. Its simply not true that they can't wait to leave Russia or other countries and will marry any foreign man who comes along. In fact, after one trip to Russia you will discover that everything these lovely women hold dear-is what they will have to leave behind, friends and family.

Its true, the quality of life can be better in Western Countries, and Russian Women are certainly aware of this. But the sense of belonging to a family and the friends is not replaceable. For example, a typical Russian student has had the exact same classmates since Kindergarten-they don't change all the way through to Graduation. And in a culture where many have only the basics in life, there is nothing more valuable than time spent talking, having a meal or taking a walk with these special people. Knowing that changes your outlook on what these women are willing to give up to be with the man of their dreams, doesn't it? They're not looking for a green card, they truly want a romantic and fulfilling relationship-and who can blame them?
